Since 2021, I have worked on software for industrial systems and the US insurance market, followed by my current work on legacy application modernization. My responsibilities have covered frontend and backend development, integrations, cloud services, releases, production support, client communication, process improvement and internal knowledge sharing.

Current role

Working with an engineering team and client representatives on the modernization of a legacy PowerBuilder application into a Next.js application.

Engineering harness and legacy modernization

I co-develop the engineering harness used by our team to analyse and refactor the legacy codebase. My responsibilities include contributing to the migration workflow, proposing improvements to the harness and helping refine internal processes so generated and refactored code can be reviewed, validated and extended consistently. I work closely with the team and client representatives to connect technical decisions with the behaviour and business rules of the existing application.

Translation-management application

I am developing a supporting application that gives the client a dedicated interface for managing translations without requiring routine code changes from the engineering team. The solution applies approved changes to the codebase automatically, sends Slack notifications and defines explicit handling for conflicts and other edge cases. This work covers the application design as well as the operational process around ownership, review and safe delivery of translation updates.

T-shaped community initiative

I run a team initiative focused on broadening knowledge beyond each person’s primary specialization. I organize and manage meetings, coordinate topics and speakers, gather feedback after sessions and use it to improve the format. I also support colleagues in developing presentation and public-speaking skills so that knowledge can be shared clearly and confidently across the team.

Developed products for the US insurance market across the full engineering lifecycle, from requirements and technical design to release and production support.

Owned the ProducerFlow integration: requirements gathering, data modelling, event-driven system design, implementation planning, delivery and communication with the external provider.
Took responsibility for production releases and on-call work, including service requests, data corrections, action triggering and service monitoring.
Contributed to a company-wide QA strategy introducing unit and integration testing, and to a frontend architecture refactor focused on maintainability and future development.
